If you’ve read this blog before, you will probably know that since the start of October I have been on a bit of a health kick trying to lose weight and be a bit healthier. Basically I am a recovering chocoholic.
No fads or strict diet, I’ve just been tracking calories on My Fitness Pal, have given up chocolate and biscuits and I’m eating more fruit and veg.
And I have been really healthy and not cheated at all (much) so obviously I must be a size 8 by now right?
Well, I started off at 145 pounds and now weigh 141 pounds (10 stone 1) So in 19 days I’ve lost 4 pounds. Not bad. Not amazing but acceptable. I am really looking forward to getting under ten stone, I think seeing the scales say 9 stone something will give me a huge much needed boost.
However, it’s not all about the scales. 4 pounds lost doesn’t really sound like much, but my stomach is definitely flatter, my jeans are definitely more comfy and if I’m honest, I’m not really missing the chocolate (well, there has been the odd moment when I could have killed for a KitKat, but it really has been just the odd fleeting moment).
I have even managed a couple of runs this week (albeit a slow 2 miles each time) and am definitely going to try to stick to running at least twice a week, as it definitely makes me feel better, even though it can be difficult to find the time (and energy!) and to be honest squeezing into my running gear is a workout in itself!
Overall, it’s going OK, the weekly shopping is noticeably cheaper (which just shows how much chocolate I used to trough!) and strangely even Tinker is eating less chocolate which is quite unexpected as my chocolate consumption mainly happened once she was asleep, so it’s hard to explain why she is also eating hardly any of the stuff.
When this month is over, I think I will keep treats for the weekend and maintain the healthy eating principles, to be honest it’s not really been that hard.
I will update again as soon as I weigh less than 10 stone (You can look forward to me shouting it from the rooftops!)
